Why we built it this way

The conventions come from studying real accredited surveyors' reports and the reporting guidance the societies and underwriters publish. A template is a skeleton, not a report. The societies' ethics rules and every underwriter's expectations assume your narrative is custom-crafted to the vessel surveyed. This document saves you the structure and the formatting; the observations, the judgment, and the wording of findings must be yours. Verify every citation against the current standard text before it goes out under your name.
